Sometimes referred to as the "double eagle" (see below), the Boss is a two speed machine.
The head can installed either end up to make use of a "high speed" or low gear ratio.

This is the first J.H. Osborne machine I've come across; four different manufacturers held sole rights to the machine during it's production history. It's also the nicest looking original finish I've seen on one of these machines. As I managed to practically steal my Millers Falls (both machines were eBay finds), I felt free to splurge on The Boss.
